What This Product Does

The CSV‑2551 is a compact, portable USB‑C® docking station designed to expand a single USB‑C® or Thunderbolt™ port into video output, USB data ports, Ethernet networking, SD/MicroSD card access, and USB‑C® Power Delivery charging.

It uses DisplayPort™ 1.4 Alternate Mode and supports:

  • A single external display up to 8K@30Hz (DSC), or
  • High‑refresh‑rate displays such as 4K at up to 144Hz, depending on host system capabilities.

Display Capability Notice

The CSV‑2551 supports DisplayPort™ 1.4 Alternate Mode and is capable of high‑resolution and high‑refresh‑rate output.

These capabilities are provided by the dock hardware.

The dock is backward compatible with earlier DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode versions.

However, actual display resolution, refresh rate, and color format are limited by the host system, including:

  • USB‑C® DisplayPort™ version supported
  • Graphics controller (GPU)
  • Operating system

If the host supports DP 1.4 with DSC, output up to 8K@30Hz is possible.
If the host supports only DP 1.2, output will be limited to 4K@30Hz.

These limits reflect the host system capability, not a limitation of the docking station.

Compatibility Notice

  • Video output requires a USB‑C® port that supports DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode
  • MST behavior depends on operating system support
  • Windows systems support extended multi‑display layouts
  • Display behavior may differ on macOS systems due to SST limitations
