What This Product Does

The CSV‑2512 is a USB‑C® KVM switch that allows two USB‑C® host systems to share:

  • One HDMI™ display
  • One set of USB peripherals (keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.)

Only one host system is active at a time. Switching is performed using the select button on the unit.

The device supports:

  • USB‑C® DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode video
  • HDMI™ output up to 4K@60Hz
  • USB‑A peripheral switching
  • USB‑C® Power Delivery up to 100 W

Important Compatibility Notice

Video output requires USB‑C® ports that support DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode.

Display resolution, refresh rate, USB data performance, and charging behavior are limited by the capabilities of the connected host systems, cables, and operating systems.

The CSV‑2512 does not convert or enhance device capabilities.

Supported Capabilities Overview

  • Dual USB‑C® host inputs
  • HDMI™ 2.0 video output up to 4K@60Hz, HDR supported
  • Three USB‑A ports (5 Gbps) for peripherals
  • USB‑C® Power Delivery input up to 100 W
  • Compatible with Windows and macOS systems supporting DP Alt Mode

Cable and Power Requirements

Use certified USB‑C® cables that support DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode, USB data transfer, and USB Power Delivery.
Lower‑quality USB‑C® cables may limit video, data, or charging performance.

For charging support and stable operation, a USB‑C® Power Delivery adapter up to 100 W is recommended but not mandatory.

Connection Example: Two USB‑C® Hosts to One HDMI™ Display

This is the standard KVM use case.

  1. Connect Host System 1 to the USB‑C® port labeled Source 1 on the CSV‑2512.
  2. Connect Host System 2 to the USB‑C® port located near the USB‑A ports (Source 2).
  3. Connect the HDMI™ display to the HDMI™ output port on the CSV‑2512.
  4. Connect keyboard, mouse, and other USB peripherals to the USB‑A ports.
  5. If host charging is required, connect a USB‑C® Power Delivery adapter to the USB‑C® PD charging port.

Power and Charging Behavior

  • 15 W of incoming power is reserved for powering the KVM unit
  • Remaining power is distributed to connected hosts as follows:
    • Single host connected: up to 85 W
    • Two hosts connected:
      • Source 1: up to 65 W
      • Source 2: up to 20 W

The unit can operate without an external PD adapter by drawing limited power from the connected hosts, but charging performance will be reduced.

Switching Between Hosts

  • Press the Select button on the CSV‑2512 to switch between Source 1 and Source 2
  • The LED indicator shows which host is currently active
  • The active host controls the display and connected USB peripherals

Ready for Use

Once connected and powered, the CSV‑2512 is ready for normal operation.

You can now switch between two USB‑C® systems while sharing one HDMI™ display and a single set of peripherals.
